ABB REF610 REF610C11HCNR01
[Core Function]
This device simultaneously undertakes tasks such as feeder protection, transformer protection, motor protection, capacitor bank protection, measurement monitoring, and sequence control. Built in dual processor architecture: one processor is dedicated to ultra fast protection algorithms (with a trip time of less than 25 milliseconds), while the other processor manages communication, HMI interaction, and data recording, without preempting resources. The protection function blocks are independent of each other, each with its own set of fixed values and data records. In addition to protection, measurement, control, and status monitoring, it also provides rich PLC programmable logic functions, which can integrate the automation and sequential logic control required for substation automation into one device, greatly reducing the need for on-site hard wiring. The combination of LON communication and PLC can significantly reduce the need for hard wiring between feeder terminals.
Protection Function (Basic Level, Complete Configuration)
Overcurrent protection: Three phase non directional overcurrent (50/51), with low set values using timed or IDMT inverse time characteristics, high set values using timed or instantaneous characteristics, and instantaneous stages using timed or instantaneous characteristics. Support 15 optional IDMT inverse time curves to ensure selective coordination with upstream fuses.
Ground fault protection: Non directional ground fault protection (50N/51N), with low set values using timed or IDMT characteristics, and high set values using timed or instantaneous characteristics. Suitable for effective grounding, resonant grounding (arc suppression coil), and low resistance grounding networks.
Thermal Overload Protection (49): Three phase cable thermal overload protection, supporting cable thermal overload model (TOL3Cab), with thermal model accuracy of ± 2% of full scale.
Arc protection: Two lens sensors can be optionally equipped for arc detection, automatically adjusting the reference level according to the background light intensity, and can also receive detection signals from other relays. The arc protection action time is ≤ 25ms, fast enough to beat most contactor welding times.
Automatic reclosing (79): Supports 1-3 times of automatic reclosing and has the function of checking synchronization and no voltage.
Circuit breaker failure protection (50BF): backup protection.
Circuit breaker status monitoring: operation count counter, spring energy storage time monitoring, trip circuit monitoring, SF6 gas pressure monitoring, circuit breaker travel time monitoring.
Unbalance protection (46): Current imbalance protection.
Voltage protection: overvoltage (59), low voltage (27).
Measurement function
Measure three-phase current, zero sequence current, three-phase voltage, zero sequence voltage, frequency, active power, reactive power, power factor, and electrical energy (kWh/kvarh). Support demand value calculation. Supports pulse counting input (7 pulse counting input ports). Display electrical quantity information as a single value. Measurement accuracy: Current/voltage ± 0.5%, thermal overload ± 2%.
Fault recording
Built in interference recorder (fault recording module), with a recording time of up to 80 seconds, triggered by one or more internal or external signals. It can record four analog channels and up to eight user selectable switch channels, with adjustable sampling rate. Non volatile memory stores up to 100 event codes with time stamps, setting values, waveform data, waveform data for the last five time stamped events, automatic reclosing times, and protection start/trip times.
I/O Configuration (REF610 Basic Type)
Analog input: 4 precise current inputs (rated 1A/5A, software optional), supporting 3 voltage inputs (100/110/120V optional).
Digital input: 2 electrically isolated switch inputs (expandable to 5), with a current consumption of 2-18mA.
Digital output: 3 normally open heavy-duty power output contacts (PO1/PO2/PO3)+2 normally open/normally closed signal output contacts (SO1/SO2), expandable to 8 outlet relays. The output contact function can be freely configured as needed, with a minimum pulse length of 40 or 80 ms, and the power output contact can be configured as locked.
All channels are provided with electrical isolation, which can effectively suppress common mode spike interference of the frequency converter.
[Communication Interface]
Front panel communication: USB-B (mini)+infrared wireless+128 × 64 pixel LCD display with backlight+8 programmable LEDs+navigation buttons. Support password grading protection (main setting password+communication password).
Backplane communication module options: plastic fiber optic, combination fiber optic (plastic and glass fiber optic), or RS-485 interface.
Supporting protocols: IEC 61850-8-1 (GOOSE peer-to-peer tripping+MMS SCADA integration), Modbus TCP/RTU (RTU and ASCII modes), DNP 3.0 (optional RS-485 module), SPA bus protocol IEC 60870-5-103。
