Description
PHARPS320000000 (also labeled XPiQ 10001160/XP Power 10000834/F8G2B3B6) is a third-generation MPS III multi track switch mode power module used in ABB Bailey INFI 90 and Symphony Plus DCS systems. Its core function is to provide four completely isolated DC power supplies for I/O modules, communication modules, field bus devices, and intelligent transmitters in the rack, and it is a key power supply node in the system infrastructure layer.
core positioning
The module itself does not execute any control algorithms and does not process process process data. It is a printed circuit board installed in the INFI 90 or Symphony Plus rack, which receives AC or DC inputs uniformly through the rack backplane. After being converted by four independent switching power supplies internally, it provides four specifications of DC power, including 5V, ± 15V, and 24V, to the on-site equipment. In the system architecture, it replaces the traditional combination of four independent DIN rail power supplies, integrating the four power supplies into a 2-slot wide module, greatly freeing up rack space and reducing wiring complexity. One PHARPS320000 can replace four traditional power bricks simultaneously, and one module can replace four DIN power supplies.

Four output capability
5V track: Output 5.0V DC ± 1%, current range 0~60A, ripple less than 50mV, designed for powering digital loads such as TTL logic circuits, high-speed counter modules, encoder interfaces, and FPGA. The voltage accuracy of this track remains within ± 1% within the full load range of 0-60A, ensuring that high-speed pulse counting does not lose step.
+15V track: Output+15V DC ± 2%, current range 0~3A, mainly used for supplying power to analog transmitters, operational amplifiers, and signal conditioning circuits.
-15V track: Output -15V DC ± 2%, current range 0~3A, combined with+15V track to provide differential analog signal and dual power operational amplifier power.
24V track: Output 24V DC ± 3%, current range 0~17A, providing power for on-site solenoid valves, indicator lights, relay coils, instrument air solenoid valve manifolds, and 24V DC sensors. The track is equipped with Current Fold protection, which automatically limits the current instead of disconnecting when the load is short circuited to 2A. The remaining healthy track continues to operate without affecting the PLC logic.
The total rated power is 1150VA, and the conversion efficiency is not less than 94% under 230VAC and 50% load conditions.
Electrical Characteristics
The input voltage range is 90~264V AC (47~63Hz) or 120~300V DC, covering the majority of industrial power grid standards worldwide. The same inventory can be adapted to 120V North American power grid, 240V European power grid, and 250V battery float charging scenarios. The module implements electrical isolation of no less than 2.5kV between four outputs and between inputs and outputs, effectively blocking the impact of on-site grounding circuits and transient interference on the controller. Equipped with overvoltage protection (OVP), overcurrent protection (OCP), over temperature protection (OTP), and surge protection. Automatically detect the electrical ID of the module when powered on, and refuse to enter the running state when it does not match the system configuration. Real time reporting of current, temperature, and fan status of each track through the rack Module Bus, and maintenance alarms can be displayed on the operator station before the process is threatened.
Physical specifications
The dimensions are 228.6mm (width) x 330.2mm (height) x 635mm (depth), with a net weight of approximately 4.95kg. It occupies 2 horizontal slots in the INFI 90 rack. Using a temperature compensated fan, it only starts when the ambient temperature exceeds 45 ° C, and the air-conditioned room can maintain silent operation for many years. The rated temperature of the electrolytic capacitor is 105 ° C, and the aluminum frame is thermally bonded for heat dissipation. The calculated MTBF reaches 235000 hours at an ambient temperature of 55 ° C. If there is an airflow malfunction, the output will gradually decrease instead of directly shutting down, leaving the operator with a response window of several days instead of seconds. Support hot swapping, and replace during operation without interrupting any track power supply.
Redundancy capability
Supports N+1 redundant configuration, with up to four PHARPS320000 modules running in parallel through dedicated redundant cables, and the load is automatically distributed. When one module fails, the remaining modules seamlessly absorb all current without the need for external OR diodes or single point relays, and there is no redundant switching of single point faults.
Role in the system
PHARPS320000 belongs to the MPS III power supply series of ABB Bailey INFI 90 and Symphony Plus systems, sharing the same rail lock kit with the PCD237A101 CPU rack and allowing for mixed deployment within the same rack. In the INFI 90 system, it provides unified power supply for NTDI01 digital I/O module, NTMP01 analog I/O module, PDP800A Profibus DP gateway, intelligent transmitter, and fieldbus devices. In the Symphony Plus system, it provides power to the series of I/O modules and HPC800 controllers. By eliminating the wiring harness and its associated voltage drop within the rack, the four isolated tracks ensure clean and stable power supply for each signal type.
Typical Applications
Excitation control and unit monitoring of thermal power and gas turbine generators in the power industry, with a wide input range of 90-270V to adapt to fluctuations in plant power consumption; Intelligent transmitters and actuators in petrochemical refineries are centrally powered, with 24V/17A tracks simultaneously feeding hundreds of analog I/O cards and solenoid valve manifolds; Roll diameter calculation and tension control for paper machines and film production lines, with a 5V track to ensure high-speed encoder pulses do not lose step; Power supply for the motor control center of rolling mills and continuous casting in the metallurgical industry; Remote monitoring of pumping stations in water and water supply systems, with built-in N+1 redundancy allowing for the replacement of faulty modules without moving I/O to backup racks.
Associated Module
PHARPS32010000 is a higher power variant with a total power of 2300VA, adding a second 24V track @ 25A, suitable for large racks with more I/O points. IMCPM02 is a low profile 24V dedicated backup module that can be inserted into the same slot when there is no need for ± 15V and 5V tracks. 3BHE029153R0101 is a redundant cable that allows up to four power sources to share current in parallel.
