Description
ZMP-SYNQNET-PCI Danaher Motion Controller Card
ZMP-SYNQNET-PCI is a high-performance PCI bus motion control card launched by Danaher Motion (formerly MEI/Colmorgen), based on the SynqNet real-time synchronous motion control network, designed specifically for multi axis high-precision motion control scenarios.
In terms of core hardware, it adopts a 64 bit Motorola MPC8245 PowerPC processor with a clock speed of 466MHz and equipped with 16MB 133MHz SDRAM memory. The PCI interface is standard 32-bit, compatible with 3.3V or 5V signals, and supports PCI 2.1 and above backplanes. The power requirement is 5V (2.2A) plus 12V (0.5A). The working temperature ranges from 0 to 50 degrees Celsius, and the storage temperature ranges from 0 to 80 degrees Celsius.
In terms of motion control performance, it supports up to 32 closely coordinated servo axes, and the refresh frequency of the servo loop is dynamically adjusted with the number of axes: up to 48kHz for 4-axis, 16kHz for 8-axis, and 16kHz for 12 axis. The synchronization accuracy reaches nanosecond level, meeting the requirements of high-precision synchronization control. The control mode covers position control, speed control, and torque control, supports incremental and absolute encoder feedback, and uses 64 bit double precision floating-point operations.
In terms of communication, the SynqNet network is connected through an RJ-45 interface, which is based on the 100Base-T physical layer and adopts real-time synchronous digital network patented technology and dual redundant data channel design. It has the characteristics of electrical isolation, fault-tolerant self-healing, plug and play, remote fault diagnosis, and remote firmware upgrade. Within each servo cycle, synchronization frames, command frames, control frames are sequentially sent, and feedback frames and status frames are returned to ensure that all node clocks are unified and actions are synchronized.
In terms of user I/O, HD15 connector is provided, including 3-point digital input, 3-point digital output, and 1-point emergency stop input, with a maximum output current of 50mA.
In terms of software and programming, it is equipped with the MechaWare software toolkit, which supports modeling and simulation in MATLAB/Simulink. PID parameters and advanced control algorithms can be customized through functional functions. The programming interface provides MPI library (C/C++) and MPX library (VB. NET/C #), supporting various real-time operating systems such as Windows XP/2000, RTX, VxWorks, Linux, etc.
Typical applications include CNC machine tools, industrial robots, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, electronic assembly, 3D printing, laser cutting, optical inspection, automated assembly lines, high-precision positioning systems, and wave makers, which require extremely high multi axis synchronization. In the wave making machine project at Tianjin University, this card was used to drive 40 wave making plates to achieve high-precision synchronous wave simulation.
In summary, ZMP-SYNQNET-PCI is a 64 bit PCI motion control card based on the SynqNet bus from Danaher Motion. With a 48kHz servo refresh rate, 32 axis synchronous control, nanosecond level accuracy, and MechaWare/Simulink development support as its core, it is a mature and high-performance solution in the field of multi axis high-precision motion control.
