ABB PROCOTIC CS31 07KT92 is the central processing unit (CPU) in the ABB Procontic CS31 intelligent distributed automation system, belonging to the Series 90 series. It belongs to the same product family as 07KR91, 07KT93, and 07KT94, and is the core controller for medium to large-scale industrial automation applications in this series.

This module has built-in digital input and output channels, and user programs are stored in EEPROM, supporting high-speed counting function. It communicates with remote I/O units through RS485 twisted pair bus, forming a distributed control architecture. The central unit is installed inside the control cabinet, and the I/O units can be installed nearby sensors and actuators. This decentralized layout can reduce wiring costs by up to about 80%. A single station can accommodate up to 192 binary signals and 96 analog signals, or any combination of the two. The communication distance can also be extended to 2 kilometers through the bus amplifier.
In terms of power supply, 07KT92 supports three power supply options, namely 24VDC, 120VAC, and 230VAC, to adapt to different on-site power supply conditions. Compared with the same series 07KR91, 07KT92 focuses on output configuration with built-in transistor output channels, while 07KR91 focuses on input configuration. The two functions complement each other and can be selected according to actual needs.
Communication capability is a prominent feature of this controller. It adopts ABB’s unique FBP (Fieldbus Plug) bus technology, and users do not need to change the communication interface hardware. They only need to replace different types of FBP bus adapters to freely switch between fieldbus protocols such as PROFIBUS DP, DeviceNet, Ethernet, ARCNET, CANopen, etc. All changes are automatically recognized and do not require special settings. The controller can accommodate up to 4 plug-in expansion communication modules and is equipped with two serial ports, which can be used for programming, ASCII communication, Modbus communication, or CS31 communication. In addition, 07KT92 can also operate as an ABB CS31 communication server, serving as a communication protocol server for Microsoft Windows applications, allowing any Windows program that can act as a DDE, FastDDE, SuiteLink, or OPC client to access data from the CS31 automation system. Its OPC and DDE versions comply with OPC Data Access Custom Interface Specification 2.04 and have passed compliance testing.
In terms of human-computer interaction, the module is equipped with a backlit LCD display screen and operation buttons, as well as an SD card slot for convenient program storage and data management.
In terms of local expansion, the CPU motherboard is equipped with local I/O expansion module interfaces, which can install up to 10 expansion modules, including various I/O expansion units such as digital I/O modules and analog modules.
The programming tool is 907 PC 331 (also known as 907 PC 331 programming and testing software), which fully complies with the IEC 61131-3 standard and supports programming languages such as instruction lists, functional block diagrams, ladder diagrams, etc. It can also be programmed and debugged on-site through TCZ handheld terminals.
In terms of physical specifications, the module adopts DIN rail card mounting and uses detachable screw type terminal blocks. The total weight of the machine is about 0.74 kilograms, and the external dimensions are about 25 centimeters by 10 centimeters by 15 centimeters.
