Description

ABB BAILEY NTRO02-A BB6603001A

NTR002 (commonly known as NTR002-A) is a terminal board/module in the ABB Bailey INFI 90/Net 90 distributed control system, belonging to the signal junction node in the Field Termination Panel (NFTP01) of the INFI 90 station level architecture. According to different configurations, it is divided into two main versions: NTR002 is a digital output terminal board, and NTR002-A is an analog module.

core positioning

NTR002 itself does not execute any control algorithms, nor does it collect or output process signals. It is a printed circuit board installed inside the NFTP01 field terminal panel, serving as a physical wiring bridge between controller modules (such as IMMFP01/02 multifunction processor, IMQRC01 quick response controller, IMMFC03/04/05 multifunction controller, Bailey Control PC-90 processor, etc.) and field actuators and sensors. Simultaneously providing Station Serial Link interface, supporting daisy chain expansion through terminal units such as NTCS02/04 or NTRL01/02/03.

NTR002 (Digital Output Terminal Board)

Provide wiring capability for digital output signals, with typical configurations supporting multiple relay outputs or transistor output channels. All I/O channels shall be electrically isolated from the system side at a voltage of not less than 2.5kV, effectively blocking the impact of on-site grounding circuits and transient interference on the controller. The digital output supports SOE (sequence of events) timestamp function, meeting the requirements of process industry for fault tracing. The I/O signal type is 24VDC level, compatible with INFI 90 system standard logic.

NTR002-A (Analog Module)

Provide wiring capability for analog signals and support configuration of analog input or output channels. The onboard terminal block is used to connect on-site transmitters, actuators, and other equipment. After on-board conditioning, the analog signal is connected to the INFI-NET communication network for continuous adjustment and calculation by the upper controller. Share the same installation and wiring specifications with NTMP01 (analog terminal board), NTCL01 (communication loop terminal board), and NTDI01 (digital I/O terminal board) of the same series.

communication interface

Connected to the INFI-NET communication network through a station level serial link, the transmission rate can reach 10Mbps and operates based on the token passing protocol. NTR002 is usually located at the end of the station level link in network topology, and cooperates with the terminal at the other end to complete signal matching. Support daisy chain extension, up to cascading multiple slave I/O modules.

Electrical Characteristics

The working power supply is 24V DC, which is uniformly powered by the on-site power modules (such as IPFLD01/IPFLD24) inside the NFTP01 panel. The module implements electrical isolation between the bus side and the field side, with overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, and surge protection. Automatically detect the electrical ID of the module when powered on, and refuse to enter the running state when it does not match the system configuration, to prevent communication or signal errors caused by mismatches. The onboard LED indicator lights display real-time power status, communication activity, and fault conditions, making it easy to quickly locate problems on site. Supports hot swapping and can be replaced without interrupting INFI-NET communication when the system is powered on.

Physical specifications

Standard printed circuit board, installed in the NFTP01 field terminal panel of the INFI 90 system, fixed with screws. The size is compatible with NFTP01 panel, with a typical panel size of approximately 450mm × 300mm × 100mm. The protection level is IP20 (inside the panel), and the working temperature meets the requirements of industrial sites.

Typical Applications

Mainly used for brownfield sites such as power plants, petrochemicals, pulp and paper, metallurgy, water treatment, etc. that are still operating ABB INFI 90/Net 90 systems. In these scenarios, it ensures deterministic synchronous communication between the HMI screen updates, alarm propagation, and historical data recording of the operator station and the on-site control layer. When expanding the system, the daisy chain capability of NTR002 can easily increase the number of slave I/O modules without the need to re plan the entire station level architecture. It can also be used in hybrid system configurations that require the Bailey Control PC-90 processor to be connected to an INFI 90 network.

Related modules of the same series

NTCL01 (communication loop terminal board), NTMP01 (analog terminal board), NTDI01 (digital I/O terminal board), and NTRO02-A (multifunctional processor terminal board) are all matching terminal units within the INFI 90 NFTP01 panel, sharing a unified installation backplane, prefabricated cables, and electrical ID detection mechanism, and can be mixed and deployed within the same panel.
